My abstractions come from seeing the world intimately, as if looking through a magnifying glass.  Details are seen as
compositions. Intensity of color with simplicity of form is my intention.  The Abstract Expressionists have had a great
influence on my style as well as my experience with glazing my pottery.

Clay Monotype is a painterly form of printmaking that uses liquid clay slip as the ink, printed onto a non-woven fabric
substrate.  Historical layers of slip are transferred from a leather hard slab of clay onto the fabric with a wooden roller.
Each print is archival and one of kind.

Art has been my most direct form of communication for as long as I can remember.   I received a BA in Art and a
teaching credential before pursuing art as a career.  Pottery and printmaking have been my primary focus.

Currently, I work in my Clay Art Studio in Alameda, CA, four days per week and teach ceramics at Mastick Senior
Center on Thursdays.  There is a delicate balance of spending time with family, friends and art activities to keep me
centered in my life.

In all this time, I remain humble to the realization that art is about the process of creation more than the finished
product.
